The First Russian-Uzbek Educational Forum “New Personnel for New Economy” took place on October 18-19 in Tashkent (Uzbekistan). MPGU Rector took part in the work of the forum and some others activities related to state visit of Russian President V.V. Putin to Uzbekistan.
During the plenary session the following persons made statements: deputy Prime-Minister of Uzbekistan A.A. Abdukhakimov with the welcoming address, chief of Russian Presidential Directorate of Relations and Cultural Contacts with Foreign Countries V.A. Chernov, Minister of Higher and Secondary special education of Uzbekistan I.U. Mazhidov, Minister of Science and Higher Education of Russia M.M. Kotiukov. The adviser to the President of Uzbekistan, Rector of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy A.A. Abduvakhitov and MSU Rector V.A. Sadovnichiy were the moderators of the discussion.
Professional dialogue platform was organized by the Russian Rectors’ Union, the Ministry of Higher and Secondary special education of Uzbekistan with the support of the administrations of Russian and Uzbek Presidents in order to broaden and institutionalize the bilateral scientific and educational cooperation. For the first time more than 140 heads of educational centres of Russia and Uzbekistan gathered on one platform.
More than 80 Rectors of leading Universities of Moscow, Saint Petersburg, the Russian Federation regions, heads of 17 regions of Russia and 14 regions of Uzbekistan took part in the Forum.
On October 19 the Forum took place at the main exhibition platform of Uzbekistan “Uzexpocentre”.
Representatives of more than 25 regions of two countries, more than 600 personnel of different companies and organizations took part in this event. The Parties discussed practical issues of business cooperation, including concrete projects and programmes, agreements and contracts were signed.
A.V. Lubkov together with other Rectors took part in the ceremony of project “The construction of the first NPP in the Republic of Uzbekistan” starting within the framework of state visit of the Russian Federation President V.V. Putin to the Republic of Uzbekistan.
In the past year MPGU signed agreements with leading Uzbek Universities. The Forum was a great opportunity to become acquainted with the infrastructure of the partner universities, as well as to hold bilateral talks between rectors.
Before Forum A.V. Lubkov had a meeting with Rector of Tashkent State Pedagogical University named after Nizami Sh.S. Sharipov. Rectors discussed possible forms of cooperation between universities.
A.V. Lubkov had a meeting with Fergana State University Rector R.Kh. Maksudov. Heads of educational organizations signed the cooperation agreement and chart a plan of its realization.
