The regular meeting of Coordination Committee of UNESCO Chairs of the Russian Federation was held on the base of Belgorod University of Cooperation, Economics and Law on 3 April, 2017. V.K. Egorov, the Chairman of Coordination Committee of UNESCO Chairs of the Russian Federation, the representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation – G.E. Ordzhonikidze, the Executive Secretary of the Russian Federation Commission for UNESCO, K.A. Gaverdovskaya, the coordinator of educational programmes of the Secretariat if the Commission, the representatives of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation – O.V. Kholod, the head of the office of international organizations and multipartite cooperation of International Department and D.A. Burunki, the representative of the Department of professional education and additional professional education, and also members of Coordinate Committee – the heads of UNESCO Chairs and experts in the sphere of education, science and communication took part in this meeting.
J.A. Goryachev, the advisor of MSPU rectorat, the member of Coordination Committee of UNESCO Chairs of the Russian Federation took part in the work of Coordination Committee from the side of MSPU. He presented the proposals that were jointly developed be the representatives of MSPU units working towards UNESCO – UNESCO Chair “Musical Art and education throughout life”, UNESCO Chair Media and Information Literacy and Media Education of citizens and also the Center of historical and cultural studies of religions and intercivilizational relations, that were presented by the members of UNESCO Chair “International (multicultural) education and integration of migrant children at school”.
The agenda included consideration of the received draft applications of the Russian Universities to establish UNESCO Chairs on their bases, the exchange of work experience in the context of realization the Aims in the sphere of stable development and participating in the global UNESCO programme “Education – 2030”.
Proposals of the activities carried out in the context of the 25th anniversary of UNESCO Inter-University Partnership Programme (UNITWIN) adopted in 1992 by the General UNESCO Conference and establishing of innovative UNESCO Chairs in higher educational institutions were also discussed.
The meeting provided the information about Moscow International Salon of Education (12-15 April, 2017), scientific and practical conference in Kazan (12-15 June, 2017, at the base of University of Management “TISBI”), International Eurasian forum on professional education (Ufa, 9-11 June, 2017).
The members of the Committee supported the initiative of MSPU UNESCO Chairs to conduct the Week “Education and Science for Peace and Development” in November 2017, the central event of which will be the International Seminar from the cycle “Dialogue of Civilizations and Intercultural Cooperation”.
