On October, 22 MPGU Rector Alexey Lubkov received a delegation from Syria. The delegation included the Head of Trust Board of Al-Hawash Private University Mr. Kamel Ayoub, Deputy head of Administration of the President of Syria Dana Bashkur and others. For MPGU part, Rector A. Lubkov, Vice-Rector I. Shonus, Rector’s assistant P. Tarasova and Deputy Director of the Center of prevention of religious and ethnical extremism in educational organizations of Russia A. Cherkezov were present at the discussion. Alexey Lubkov outlined MPGU achievements in relationship with educational organizaions of the Arab World and expressed hopes of future cooperation between Syrian Universities and his University. The Syrian counterparts expressed interest in the Russian studies. As a result of the meeting, the parties agreed to draw up an agreement on cooperation in different educational areas.
This was another in the line of official meetings held by MPGU and the Syrian Arab Republic. In 2018 MPGU with the aid of Federal Agency for Affairs of the Commonwealth of Independent States, Compatriots Residing Abroad and International Humanitarian Co-Operation (Rossotrudnichestvo) successfully organized a Contemporary school «The Russian language in polycultural world» in the city of Damascus. More than 50 teachers of Russian from Damascus and different cities of Russia took part in the project.
