A law has come into force allowing students of the last courses of pedagogical colleges to officially work in kindergartens and primary school classes. Previously, students of pedagogical universities had a similar right. Experts generally positively assess the innovation, although they note that it will not solve all personnel problems
What is the law about
From now on, students of the final year of pedagogical institutions of secondary vocational education will be able to officially work in their specialty in kindergartens and primary schools. At the same time, only adult students studying in the specialty «preschool education» and who have passed the intermediate certification for the two previous years of study will be able to work in preschool institutions.
The procedure for admission to work is still being coordinated between the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Labor.
The chairman of the State Duma Committee on Education Olga Kazakova said that
earlier, colleges asked to adopt this law, seeing the injustice in the fact that only university students can go to work before graduation.
— It was important not only for the children themselves, but also for schools, kindergartens, especially in small towns and villages where there is a vacancy, and it is impossible to hire a student of a pedagogical college legally, — Kazakova told Izvestia.
How teacher training colleges will change
For specialized educational institutions, the decision taken is a signal to action, Alexey Lubkov believes. It is necessary to provide high-quality education, adjust educational programs, including curricula, think over the order of studying disciplines in such a way that by the beginning of the final course the basic methods of preschool education and primary education have been fully studied.
It is also important to develop a mentoring system in teacher training colleges, one of the directions of which will now be the interaction «teacher — student —graduate», the expert added.
