On September 25, 2021 an online discussion forum for graduates of German educational programs «Russia and Germany: Discourse of Identities — Variations and Transformations» terminated. One of its co-organizers was Moscow Pedagogical State University.
Tradition of holding interdisciplinary conferences for alumni has existed for over 17 years and this time despite limitations of online format, the event was held at a high level and attracted great interest of the participants to the issues discussed.
The forum touched upon such topical topics as the acquisition of national identity in individual post-Soviet states, German identity in a historical perspective, identity and waves of migration in the 20th and 21st centuries, stereotypes and challenges to the identity of Russian Germans in Russia and Germany, the autobiographical memory of Russian Germans in Germany as space of cultural transfer and hybrid identity, personal and group identity, identity management in the context of German-Russian economic cooperation, international educational exchange, identity and internationalization of the global education system, etc.
The program included reports by experts, round tables, master classes for participants and guests of the conference.
Among the conference experts were representatives of the Moscow Pedagogical State University, University of Würzburg, Institute for Foreign Cultural Relations, German Academic Exchange Service, Moscow Humboldt Club, Alexander von Humboldt Foundation in Russia, Russian-German Chamber of Commerce, Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation, Moscow State University, and Novgorod State University.
