On December 11, 2020 International Relations Office held an online conference with students of the Faculty of Geography, the Institute of International Education, the Institute of Physics, Technology and Information Systems, the Institute of Mathematics and Informatics.
This meeting was the first one in a series of meetings of foreign students of Moscow Pedagogical State University with International relations Office. During the conference administrative issues related to the difficulties of distance learning, lack of practice of the Russian language, life in dormitories, internship opportunities in other countries, visa and registration processing were discussed. One of the most important problems for foreign students is the lack of practice of the Russian language, the insufficient number or absence of academic hours in the curriculum for the disciplines «Russian as a foreign language». To discuss and solve this problem, specialists of the Department of Russian as a Foreign Language in Professional Education, headed by the head of the department S.A. Vishnyakov were invited to the conference.
In addition, the students were offered help from the MPGU Buddy Club volunteer organization. Each student can contact the Office of International Relations for any kind of help and support.
Foreign students asked all the questions they were interested in, including writing to the conference chat. The students were reminded that with any problem they can contact the representatives of the university: on educational issues — to those responsible in institutes and faculties, and on administrative issues — to IRO staff.
