Viktor K. Sigov, professor of the Institute of Philology, department of Russian Literature of the XX Century, and honorary professor of Tianjin University delivered lectures and presentations in a number of Chinese universities. At the invitation of one of the most important MPGU’s partners, Beijing Normal University, Pr. Sigov gave a lecture for PhD. students, teachers and staff members of the Russianist Research Center. The presentation was dedicated to the topic of development of Russian literature in the XXI century. Works of Russian classicists of the XX century, such as V.G. Rasputin, Ch.T. Aytmatov, I. Brodsky and others are widely known in China. Contemporary writers, such as E. Vodolazkin, E. Grishkovets, V. Pelevin, Z. Prilepin, D. Rubina and G. Yakhina, are gradually introduced to the Chinese readers and their works open new horizons for translation and literary research for scholars and readers.
Beihang University in Beijing and MPGU are not partners yet, however, more than 100 students and teachers study Russian in the Chinese university. Wan Yue did one-year internship in MPGU Institute of Philology and presented her dissertation on Russian literature in Beijing Normal University. Pr. Sigov introduced MPGU to Chinese students and received overwhelmingly positive response from them. He also gave lecture “The characteristics of national, territorial and cultural development of Russia” translated in Chinese. In addition, Chinese students studying Russian were acquainted with specialized internet material and were demonstrated different application methods at the lessons of the Russian language. Chinese Russianists also received audio, video and text materials necessary for their future research.
