
From June 30 to July 5, 2017 in Batumi took place IX International Forum «Geocultural space: smart technologies in education and society.» Representatives of 12 countries (Armenia, Georgia, Italy, Russia, Slovakia, USA, Turkey, Ukraine, Finland, South Africa, South Korea, Japan) took part in the forum.
Modern technologies allowed participants to accept both full-time and online participation in the forum.
Representatives of the MSPU worked in three sections, making presentations and taking an active part in the discussions. In the section «Translation and Intercultural Communication» O.A. Morozova (Deputy Head of the Department of International Relations, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Contrastive Linguistics) made a presentation on the topic: «Transformation of the role of lexicographic sources in modern intercultural communication», in the section «Literary Horizons» — N.M. Bulashova (leading translator of the Office of International Relations) performed with a report on the topic: «Comparative analysis as an actual line of modern literary criticism.» In the section «The Increasing Role of Bilingualism in Modern Society: Bilingual Education» — E.Yu. Bekasova (senior lecturer of the psychology department of the faculty of pedagogy and psychology) performed with a report on the topic: «Psychological aspects of bilingual education as a factor in the formation of the bilingual environment».
The searching of ways of improving the effectiveness of international cooperation, a culture of communication in real and virtual formats, and the integration of the scientific and pedagogical potential of specialists contribute to the creation of an innovative intercultural educational and scientific environment.
