On the 17th of September 2018 a delegation from Dali University (China) headed by the Vice-president Li Saobing paid a visit to MPGU. After a guided tour of the main building of MPGU both sides discussed possibilities of the future cooperation between the Universities, a relationship initiated by signing a memorandum of agreement in June 2017. The sides discussed the question of student exchange program development, opportunities for foreign students to study Russian, as well as undertaking joint scientific research. In addition, pre-school pedagogics was agreed to be the most relevant area of cooperation.
K.P. Dotsenko, Advisor to the Rector’s Office, pointed out MPGU’s considerable experience in the area of pre-school education and suggested a number of collaborative activities designed to conduct joint scientific research and organize workshops for University of Dali’s teachers. Currently China develops a legislative network for educating pre-school children, therefore Russian pedagogues’ experience is going to be highly valuable for Chinese universities. During the discussion it was suggested that teachers from the faculty of pre-school pedagogics and psychology should visit Chinese universities to organize training courses. The outcome of this collaboration is expected to be publication of joint research papers and scientific articles, establishment of international science laboratory and preparation of analytical review for the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China by Chinese colleagues. M. U. Paramonova, Dean of the Faculty of Pre-School Pedagogics and Psychology expressed her hopes for promoting cooperation between faculties and demonstrating commitment to active and fruitful mutual work. Fang Huei, Assistant Director for International Affairs, and A. V. Stabrovskaya, Director of International Cooperation, agreed on further development of programs of academic mobility and discussed possibilities to obtain PRC State scholarships for student exchange programs between MSPU and Dali University.
