On November 12, 2019 first Russian and British Rectors’ Forum took place in Moscow State University (MGU). More than 100 presidents and rectors of institutions of higher educations discussed issues related to science and education. Agreement on cooperation between The Russian Rector’s Union and the Association of British Universities was sighned at the end of the Forum. MGU Rector Victor Sadovnichy, First Deputy Minister of higher education and science in Russia Grigory Trubnikov, Executive Director of the University of Exeter Steve Smith, President of the Association of British Universities, Liverpool University Rector Jannet Beer. According to Trubnikov, Russia and Britain «are building bridges in the time of political cataclysms. Only scientific and educational bridges are the most solid.» Victor Sadovnichy called upon developing joint master programs, academic mobility and scientific relationships between the two countries.
MPGU is one of Russian universities that actively work on improvement of relationships between the two countries. In 2018 MPGU delegation headed by Alexey Lubkov signed agreement of cooperation with London University. Now MPGU implements a joint bachelor program «English and international communication» in English.
