Traditionally Russia celebrates Knowledge Day on September 1. In spite of the pandemic MPGU celebrated Knowledge Day joyfully and festively. Celebration was broadcasted from the Main building to MPGU branches located in Moscow, Anapa, Stavropol, Pokrov. The Rector congratulated freshmen, other students, teachers and staff on the first day of 2020 academic year. He also read to students a celebratory message from the Minister of Education of the Russian Federation Sergey Kravtsov.
During the admission campaign 2020 MPGU recieved 67,000 applications, 2000 more than in 2019. Institute of foreign languages was the most popular faculty, Institute of phylology received the 2nd place, Institute of International education — the 3rd one respectively. This year more than 1500 BA students, 1111 MA students enrolled in the university. The admission process is still on, so far 3744 students have enrolled in MPGU and around 600 foreign students are expected to enroll in MPGU in the next 2 months as well.
