On June 9, 2021 MPGU held a video conference with leading Cuban universities to discuss development of joint academic projects, academic mobility and further education for University teachers. Special attention was paid to topic of advertising MPGU to Cuban students and thus attracting more Cuban exchange students.
MPGU was represented by Rector Alexey Lubkov, Deputy head of International Relations Office Olga Morozova, Head of Institute of Fine arts A. Konovalov, Head of Institute of Childhood A. Almazova and others. The Cuban side was represented by Ambassador of Cuba in Russia Julio Antonio Garmendía Peña, advisor for education and science of the Embassy of the Republic of Cuba, Gustavo Cobreiro Suarez, and Rectors of the following universities: Universidad de Ciencias Pedagógicas «Enrique José Varona», Universidad de Pinar del Río «Hermanos Saíz Montes de Oca», Universidad Central «Marta Abreu» de Las Villas, Universidad de Holguín, Universidad de Oriente,.
Historically relationship with Cuban universities has always been important for MPGU, in the nearest future it is planned to bring the relationship between educational institutions on the next level.
