On December 17, 2020 an online meeting was held with the first Vice-rector V. Dronov on the BigBlueButton web conferencing platform. The meeting was attended by IRO representatives, as well as representatives of Institutes and Faculties of Moscow Pedagogical State University.
Within the framework of the meeting, participants discussed issues related to working with foreign students. In particular, introduction of the discipline «Russian as a foreign language» in the curricula, monitoring psychological and physical health of students, monitoring academic performance and measures to support foreigners during a pandemic and distance learning. Viktor Dronov emphasized need for individual work with each foreign student. During the meeting, the results of the work carried out to support foreign students were discussed. The university has created a system of social, cultural and psychological assistance to students, regular online meetings are held, as well as a questionnaire aimed at identifying the most problematic issues. Active work is underway aimed at socializing foreign students, expanding the supervision system, as well as conducting online consultations with psychologists.
Following the meeting, it was decided to improve the platform for interaction with foreign students and search for new solutions during a pandemic.
