MSPU delegation consisted of students, professors and University staff visited Brussels on March 8-11, 2017 within the framework of the projects Jean Monnet / Erasmus +
The members of student project Jean Monnet “Visualization of European ideas” presented the study projects with the exhibition of students works (28 student posters about countries – members of the EU) at one of the most modern and significant cultural centre of Brussels, at the museum “BOZAR”.
The opening ceremony of the exhibition began with the video introduction of MSPU Rector A.V. Lubkov who talked about the richest traditions of the leading Russian pedagogical university. The head of the delegation, vice-rector for Regional Policy and International Affairs L.V. Dudova, congratulated the audience and thanked the representatives of the European Commission for support of Jean Monnet / Erasmus + projects.
Vito Borelli, the head of the sector of Jean Monnet projects at the Directorate General for education and culture of the European Comission, Katherine Heid, the main specialist of the organization “Culture Action Europe”, Kamila Partyka, the main specialist concerning Russia of the department of international cooperation in education and youth of Directorate-General for Education and Culture,
deputy Permanent representative of Russia to the EU Karen Malayan, director of the Russian centre of science and culture in Brussels A. Razumov were among the speakers and guests of the ceremony.
After opening ceremony our guests took part in interactive part of the presentation and played a learning game with pupils and students.
The other days of this trip were dedicated to professional visits, meetings and talks. Students group had a meeting with Ute Haller-Block, the head of the Unit of Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency, and Cnezhina Nikolova, the curator of Jean Monnet projects.
There were talks at a high level with the representatives of the governing institutes of the EU. The members of MSPU delegation visited the European Commission, the main executive authority (the “government”) of the EU and European Parliament, the main legislative authority.
During the visit to the Cabinet for education and culture, members of MSPU delegation got acquainted with one of the “Ministries” of the EC as the “government” of the EU. The delegation had a meeting with Tibor Navracsics, the European Commissioner for Education, Culture, Youth and Sport. He shared his plans concering with the continuation of the reform of higher education in united European field of Universities including Russian higher educational institutions.
During the visit to Committee for education and Culture of the European Parliament the delagates had the possibility to see the “workshop” of the legislative authority. Andrea Bocskor, deputy chairman of the Committee acquainted them with the legislative work of her Commission.
During the meeting with the members of the Joint Research Centre (JRC) delegates got acquainted with the technologies of scientific substantiation of legislative initiatives of the Parliament and decisions of the Commission.
Koen Jonkers, deputy head of the main management department at JRC provided detailed information about the work of the department of the Research and Innovation Observatory and the Knowledge Centre for Territorial Policies. The richest resources of these databases serve as a basis for a survey of 11 Central and Eastern European countries-members of the EU that have joined the EU after 2004, whose scientific policy is the subject of the 2nd Jean Monnet project at MSPU.
