On October 13, 2020 an online excursion at MPGU for students from partner universities. An online meeting of this format was the first of its kind and brought together students from the University of Clermont-Ferrand (France), the Eurasian National University named after L.N. Gumilyov (Kazakhstan), Belarusian State Pedagogical University named after Maxim Tank (Belarus), Kazakh National Pedagogical University named after Abai (Kazakhstan), etc. The event aimed at maintaining friendly relations among students from different countries contributed to the promotion and popularization of the Russian language and culture, establishing new contacts.
Deputy Head of the International Relations Department Olga Morozova and Head of the international cooperation department, Alina Stabrovskaya made an introductory speech and emphasized importance of uniting and meeting students from all over the world in this difficult time. Coordinator of the international student club “MPGU Buddy Club” Irina Sukhoruchenkova made a presentation about MPGU, its history and traditions. Afterwards MPGU students invited foreigners to take part in linguistic games, master classes and team-building quests.
At the end of the program participants exchanged contacts and agreed to organize Russian language lessons online. Such experience can become a part of teaching Russian as a foreign language as well as a resource for improving level of foreign languages of Buddy Club members.
In the future it is planned to regularly conduct various kinds of virtual events with representatives of foreign partner universities and MPGU foreign students. Virtual reality has become a part of our lives, and in the future it seems very possible to continue online cooperation together with face-to-face interaction.
