The targeted audience of such fairs – pupils and students who want to study abroad.
The members of the fair that was held in the biggest Indian cities (Delhi, Mumbai and Bengalor) were more than 20 Russian and foreign Universities and companies providing educational services from Ireland, Spain, Italy, Kazakhstan, Lithuania, Malaysia, the Netherlands, Russia, France and other countries.
MSPU, according to the organizers, was the most popular among the Russian Universities that participated in the fair. More than a third of fair visitors registered to attend MSPU stand, notwithstanding the small number of programmes in English. The potential students were interested in the programmesdevoted to business management, physics, foreign languages, sociology, psychology, art and others.
Short-term educational programmes attracted some interestIndian citizens interested in learning Russian as a foreign languagewere a special category.
MSPU representatives have a meeting with F.A. Rozovsky, the head of Representative office of Rossotrudnichestvo in India, and A. Starkov, the main consultant in culture and information of Russian centre of science and culture.
A separate meeting was held with the representatives of the Center for the Study of the Russian language, literature and culturology of D. Neru University (New-Delhi) headed by the head of the Center MeetaNarain.
This University has the status of the state research university. It was established in 1969. Russian prime-minister D.A. Medvedev has been the honorary doctor of this University since 2012.
The parties discussed the perspectives of possible cooperation: exchanges of lecturers and students, joint tutoring of graduate students, participating in summer schools.
The meeting with the colleagues from the department of Slavic and Finno-Urgic Languages of Delhi University (one of the most famous and prestigious of Indian Universities that was established in 1922) was very interesting. The Indian party showed the interest in courses of advanced studies for lecturers, students and lecturers exchanges, organization of summer schools.
