The conference dedicated to the 65th anniversary of the rector of MSPU, academician of RAS A. Semenov was attended by representatives of the federal authorities, leading experts in the sphere of education, rectors of Russian and foreign pedagogical universities.
The head of the organization “Rossotrudnichestvo” Lyubov Glebova began her speech with the following:
When Alexey Lvovich invited me to the international conference to talk about the development of education, I asked him: “What about your birthday? How will we celebrate it?” And he answered: “Are we going! Because the future of the education is my future”.
Nadezda Shajdenko, deputy Chairman of the Committee on Education of the State Duma, said: “Your unschooled talent and inexhaustible energy are tremendous charge of optimism and respect for people. You are known throughout the country as an organizer and co-author of the 1st Russian textbook on computer science. A hard mission entrusted to you – to manage the country’s leading pedagogical university in the period of social changes”.
Congratulations were interspersed with informative reports. For example, Alexey Semenov spoke about traditions in education and continuity (the presentation is available). Supervisor of the Institute of Education Higher School of Economics Isac Frumin made a report “Evolution and revolution of pedagogical education”. Rector of MCTTU Igor Remorenko outlined a strategic vision for the development of his University: from the current state through its positioning as “normal” by analogy with the Chinese institutions of teachers’ training to city university.
The moderator of the conference was Eduard Nikitin –the coryphaeus of Russian educational politics, until recently rector of the Academy of Advanced Training and professional retraining of education, and at the turn of 1980-90 years – deputy Eduard Dneprov in the Ministry of education of new Russia.
Congratulations were interspersed with reflections of MSPU guests about the fate of education up to late evening. In the afternoon in the Centre of contemporary art HHF within the frameworks of the project “Topography of reality” the exhibition was opened, and in the evening rector hosted a reception for the friends of rector and university, where students, colleges, friends and members of rector’s family spoke in informal atmosphere.
