On October 4, 2018, the International Forum of the Eurasian Association of Pedagogical Universities «Problems of Continuing Pedagogical Education: Traditions and Innovations» was launched in the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan (Almaty). The forum was timed to the 70th anniversary of the Abay Kazakh National Pedagogical University (AKNPU). The forum was dedicated to the issues of the continuing pedagogical education and teachers’ training in the countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States.
The Forum opened with greetings made by T. O. Balykbayev, Rector of AKNPU. Rector outlined the structure of the high education in Kazakhstan and made suggestions on the further development of EAPU and establishment of Abay educational center. Rector’s greetings were followed by Vice-Minister of Education and Science of Kazakhstan’s, A. Aymagambetov’s statement. In his statement Mr. Aymagambetov mentioned the idea of Eurasian cooperation in spheres of education and science, emphasizing the role of single educational area in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
As for the Russian side, Rector of MPGU, A. V. Lubkov, talked about revival of pedagogical education in Russia, renewal of higher education in Russia and educational standards as well as creation of digital school.
A. I. Zhuk, Rector of Belarusian State Pedagogical University named after Maxim Tanka discussed specific features of the Belorussian system of education and the opportunity to organize Pedagogical Classes Association. Vice-Rector of Armenian State Pedagogical University named after Khachatur Abovian, S. R. Gevorkyan made a presentation on the present stage of development of pedagogical education in Armenia.
