Moscow Pedagogical State University has celebrated its 150th anniversary. As part of the solemn ceremony, the teachers were presented with gratitude from the Government of Russia, as well as departmental awards. Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Tatyana Golikova congratulated the pedagogical university on its anniversary, toured the iconic places in the main building of MPGU, talked with future teachers and their professors.
“250 thousand people were trained in your educational institution — this is a huge army of teachers who came to schools, universities, who will remember you. Thank you for multiplying pedagogical traditions, preserving the culture, and continuing to increase the cultural pedagogical heritage: this is your serious and great contribution to the development of the pedagogical community.
Minister of Education of Russia Sergey Kravtsov noted that thanks to the creative, constructive work of the teaching staff, several generations of reputable scientists who worked within the walls of the university, MPGU has become one of the leading universities in the country.
Rector of MPGU, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Academician of the Russian Academy of Education Alexey V. Lubkov spoke about the establishment of the university, its history, and how the training of teaching staff in Russia has changed.
President of the Russian Union of Rectors, Rector of the Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov Viktor Sadovnichy emphasized that for 150 years MPGU «raised pedagogical education to an unprecedented height and became one of the strongest pedagogical universities in the world.»
