Employment of foreign citizens studying at MPGU

 

Valid from August 5, 2020.

Foreign Bachelor, Master and PhD students studying full-time at Moscow State Pedagogical University have the right to work in their free time in organizations located on the territory of the Russian Federation without obtaining a work permit or patent (Federal Law dated 06.02.2020 No. 16-FZ «On Amendments to the Federal Law» On the Legal Status of Foreign Citizens in the Russian Federation « – in Russian).

Other categories of foreign students (preparatory courses, further vocational training courses, retraining courses etc.) have the right to work without obtaining a work permit or patent:

during the holidays in organizations located on the territory of the Russian Federation;

in their free time to work at the Moscow State Pedagogical University (Federal Law of 25.07.2002 No. 115-FZ «On the legal status of foreign citizens in the Russian Federation»).

Note: foreign students, graduate students, course listeners from the member states of the Eurasian Economic Union (Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan) are not required to obtain a work permit (Treaty on the Eurasian Economic Union, signed in Astana on 29.05.2014, Decision of the Supreme Council of the Community Belarus and Russia from 22.06.1996 No. 4).

To put it simply:

Full-time BA, MA, PhD students can work in their free time (after studies, e.g. in the evening, in the weekend etc.) anywhere in Russia

All other students can work during the holidays anywhere in Russia, in their free time only at MPGU.

Students from Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan can work anywhere in Russia without a work permit.
