MPGU is implementing a joint educational project with Sichuan in the field of Painting. This specialty was first tested by our universities as a joint training program. During the implementation of the project, almost 500 Chinese students graduated and received diplomas from two universities.
Rector of MPGU Alexey Lubkov was received by Wang Mingyi, Rector of Sichuan Normal University, Zhang Haidong, Vice-Rector of Sichuan Normal University, Zheng Hongying, Head of the Department of International Exchanges and Cooperation of Sichuan Normal University, Liu Chuanjun, Director of the Institute of Fine Arts of Sichuan Normal University and Wei Gang, Deputy Governor office for party and administrative affairs.
At the meeting of the rector of MPGU with the rector of Sichuan Normal University Wang Mingyi, the leaders approved the results achieved and discussed further scientific and educational Chinese-Russian interaction, including the exchange of students and teachers in the field of natural sciences, lecturing and conducting joint research in the field of pedagogical knowledge.
All agreements were secured by a cooperation agreement signed at the meeting.
For his great contribution to the development of bilateral joint activities and comprehensive support of the project and in recognition of significant merits in the development of Russian-Chinese cooperation in the field of teacher education, the rector of Moscow State Pedagogical University, academician of the Russian Academy of Education, Doctor of
Historical Sciences, Professor Alexey Vladimirovich Lubkov was awarded the diploma of Honorary Professor of Sichuan Pedagogical University.
In his speech, Alexey V. Lubkov drew an interesting historical parallel, talking about the great Chinese politician and reformer Deng Xiaoping, who was born in Sichuan province and received both a European and a Soviet education. In Moscow, Deng Xiaoping studied at the Communist University of the Workers of China in 1925 — 1926. It was a higher educational institution where excellent teachers taught, as well as outstanding figures of the communist movement of the 20s, such as I.V. Stalin, N.I. Bukharin and others. It is significant that the university building was located in the very center of the capital, and in 1872 it also housed Professor Guerrier’s Higher Women’s Courses, which over the course of 150 years became the leading pedagogical university in the Russian Federation. And “This has a very high meaning, since the history and personal biography of Comrade Deng Xiaoping are connected with the place from which the history of our university began. Let this be the symbol that once again emphasizes the unity of our destiny and responsibility for the great universal work that we are doing for our countries, for our youth, for the development of education, science and culture.”
After the completion of the official part of the event, the rector visited the art gallery with works of students and teachers presented in it, as well as the history museum of Sichuan Normal University.
The official visit ended with a meeting with the Secretary of the Party Committee of the University, Mr. Guo Yun, who organized a festive dinner in honor of the rector of MPGU Alexey Lubkov. At the meeting, the leaders exchanged ideas for the development of future joint projects. Alexey Lubkov spoke about a pilot project for reforming Russian higher education, in which MPGU participates as the only pedagogical university that determines the structure and content of teacher training in Russia.
