MPGU has various sport clubs:

Sport halls are equipped with all the necessary equipment for doing sports.
A number of famous athletes graduated or study in the Institute of Physical Education, Sport and Health: Olympic champions and medalists in weightlifting, artistic gymnastics, World champions in basketball, ice skating and cycling.
MPGU annually holds sport competitions for all its students.
MPGU Games is a series of sporting events among Institutes/Faculties that take place throughout the year since 1991. The students compete in mini-football, table tennis, volleyball, basketball and chess. Thу Faculty of Geography has been a winner 13 times so far.
The Rector Volleyball Tournament s dedicated to MPGU birthday and takes place on the first week of Novermber since 2012. Four best teams of MPGU Games participate in the tournament, and both male and female players are allowed to take part. In the first match girls compete, in the second — boys, and in the third one the match a mixed team competes. In 2016 the Tournament has become international. Armenian State Pedagogical University named after Khachatur Abovyan, MPGU team, Faculty of Geography team, Institute of Boilogy and Chemistry team took part in the Tournament.
