Institute of Arts

The Institute of Arts was established in August 2015 when two faculties were united (the Art and Graphic Faculty and the Musical faculty).
The traditions of the Art and Graphic Faculty date back to 1937, when teaching courses for training teachers of drawing and technical drawing were organized. Famous scholars,teachers and artists worked there at different times.
S.A. Gavriliachenko, people’s artist of the Russian Federation; S.V. Tsyganov, honoured artist of the Russian Federation; S.P. Lomov, academician of the RAO and the RAA and also members of the Union of Russian Artists, The International Federation of Artists, The International Art Foundation and other creative unions and associations are teaching at the faculty. 72 lecturers are working at the faculty, there are 11 Doctors of Science and 32 Candidates of Science among them.
Students and lecturers take an active part in exhibitions of The Moscow Union of Artists, of modern art at the Russian Cultural Centre in Paris, of modern art in Harbin, win prizes at numerous International festivals and competitions: “Jadranstar”, «Приятели на България», «A Clockwork orange» and other.

The Musical faculty was established in 1959. A.V. Sveshnikov, the Rector of the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory, took an active part in development of the Faculty as well as prominent music teachers O.A. Apraksina, O.P. Sokolova, A.G. Manabeni and others.
There are 81 lecturers at the faculty, among them 10 Doctors of Science and 38 Candidates of Science.
There are student choruses, the orchestra of folk instruments, instrumental and vocal ensembles, musical theatre at the faculty. Students and lecturers play at the Moscow State Conservatory, the International House of Musicand so on.

Science

Scientific course «Development of General and special (musical) abilities in the musical learningprocess» was established at the Department of musical instruments in 1972. Doctor of pedagogical Sciences, Professor, Honored worker of higher school of theRussian Federation, member of the Expert Council of the Higher Attestation Commission (HAC) of the Russian Federation, member of theAcademy of pedagogical and social Sciences G. M. Tsypin is a founder and scientific supervisor of the department. In the framework of a scientific school people defend their dissertations andobtained candidate’s and doctor’s degrees in the sphere of pedagogy.
More than two hundred graduatesare working in different regions of Russia and abroad.
Research area «Methodology of musical and pedagogical education» is studied at the
Department of methodology and methods of teaching music. Doctor of pedagogical sciences, Professor E. B. Abdullin is a founder and scientific supervisor. In this research area five hundred and twenty-one doctoral dissertations were defended. Each of them is a continuation and development of scientific and pedagogical concepts of E. B. Abdullin. Created in the eighties of the last century, his scientific school is still growing today in its third generation, which serves as another confirmation of its vitality and effectiveness.
